Wi-Pics Mobile is an advanced solution for the professional photographer designed to allow the photographer to Data Associate (at point of capture) and transmit their image files wirelessly, and securely, to a remote system, editing station, printer, etc., via UNC or FTP protocols. Data Association is the ability to embed data from a barcode or mag-strip reader into the User Comments and/or Image Description sections of the EXIF Header of the JPEG file. In addition, there are three User Defined Fields that can be populated with any type of information the photographer requires to track or locate their images, such as Photographer Name, Location, Date, Team, Event, etc. The information entered into the User Defined Fields is also stored in the EXIF Header. Image files can automatically be renamed using the barcode or mag-strip data and/or the information contained in any or all of the User Defined Fields (in any order the user chooses), prior to being transmitted wirelessly. Wi-Pics Mobile!TM requires no modification of camera hardware or firmware and does not impact camera performance.
